I was going to spin some silly yarn about how he couldn't possibly have foreseen the damage he was going to do by having Greedo shoot first. The game is good enough to make me want more, or at least try a newer version - perhaps on a Play Station or PC.You know, when I sat down to write this review the first time, I started off writing about George Lucas. In the future, I'll be looking out for a Tiger Woods version for the Wii. In conclusion, for the price it is a good buy. The number of golf courses supplied is very good - possibly the best feature of the game Grade: B+ Only on line multiplayer mode is missing from this version, I doubt EA Sports did not include it in newer versions. The Rival Mode provides practice against an opponent(s) in a setting that helps you improves your skills while learning how to play. There is not much of a learning curve, and the many choice of game modes allow you to get your game together before leaping on the PGA Tour mode. Playability - The game itself is a very easy game to play. For what they had to work with, and despite many shortcomings, I would have to give this area a C+ Since I have not played the most recent version of the game, I do not know if they have added that function. Not being able to move the ball forward or backward in your stance (which can be used to add or subtract distance of a shot) is a serious oversight of EA Sports. It is hard to take a half swing using a Gamecube controller, which makes shots between clubs extremely difficult. I favor golfing with a mouse with a click system for swinging rather than a Gamecube controller. Swing Control - Being a console game, the input device is going to be limited. Its not 16 bit Nintendo, but it is not ultra photo realistic either. In a gaming world obsessed with eye candy, Woods 06 is no match for the oldest versions of Links I have. Graphics - Nothing awe inspiring, but more than enough to do the job. The inconsistency of ball flight really hurts my grade : C+ It makes me wonder how the ball flight physics engine makes its calculation since one of the skills is "luck". The system is fair start forward - earn points that can to used to increase various skills (driving, spin, ball striking, etc) to become the worlds greatest player of all time. The different modes of game play set Woods apart from Links since Woods has a Tour and Rival mode to be completed. Game Play - Woods '06 seems to be more of a arcade game than a golfing simulation like Links. I am not playing this game on a Gamecube either, I am using a Wii - It could make a difference for load times and such. Another thing that isn 't fair to EA Sports is it is a '06 version when the current version at the time of this writing is '10. Having spent more time gaming on the PC than on any console, the only thing I can compare Tiger Woods 06 to is any of the Links LS versions I've played through the years. On the PC side, that hasn't always been the case. For the console, Tiger Woods rules the landscape because of no competition.
